How you experience a place matters as much as where you go
I’m Laurie. Somewhere between decades of storytelling and training as a Master Naturalist, I got interested in noticing. Especially when I’m traveling, I want to really get to know a place, not just skim it.
Travel used to run on curiosity, but these days its seems like it just runs on suggestions: the same ten destinations, the same selfie shots, the same overcrowded cafes. Because that is what the feed rewards.
Field Marks is my answer to that. Together let’s dive into following YOUR interests (and not the algorithm’s) and noticing more once you get there.

For years, I traveled with a camera, and it helped me see the world. Then I became a Master Naturalist and I started seeing, and traveling, differently.
Learning to observe the natural world and all its connections transformed the way I experience every place I visit. Now, I look for the relationships between people and landscape, food and history, language and place. And I know that means I have to slow down to notice the details that reveal these connections.
