Shepherdstown is the most haunted town in West Virginia. Graves from the French and Indian and Revolutionary Wars are sprinkled throughout its cemeteries. Many more unmarked graves holding immigrant workers lost to cholera. Plus the aftermath of Antietam, when there were so many bodies they ran out of places to put them. The legends stick because the history is real. It’s a great way to learn more about a place, whether you’re traveling or close to home. In Shepherdstown I recommend @shepherdstownmysterywalks for an entertaining and informative look at this incredible town and its history
